Your Experience

We believe the journey is as important as the destination. That’s why we ensure that the experience of building your home is as pleasant as possible.

How do we achieve this?

We understand, first and foremost, that building a house is not just creating a high quality, well-made building; it is a reflection of you and your family.  It is the creation of a space that is built for you to live in. We build every home with the care, attention to detail and quality that we would if it were our own. You deal directly with us throughout the whole journey. We communicate honestly and clearly throughout, ensuring there are no hidden costs and no sudden surprises. Our aim is to make the building experience one full of calm and confidence.

Our expertise and knowledge is offered through consultation and collaboration from planning, design and build. We believe in open and honest communication.  We don’t shy away from offering advice if we believe design choices may not work effectively.

Get in touch with us here, and we can arrange a time to meet and discuss your ideas.

Building Approach

To create homes built for life, we employ an approach to building that combines attention to detail, quality craftsmanship and exceptional design.

Leigh Cass Builders are focused on building unique homes of exceptional quality. We embrace old and new building techniques, paying special attention to quality craftsmanship. From initial planning and design to build, we tailor the project to your vision, providing our expertise and advice along the way. This results in your home being of the highest quality and craftsmanship, whilst you remain aware of budgets and timelines.

Throughout the project, we communicate with you honestly so that you can relax and trust the project is on track.

We prefer to limit the number of projects we take on, which allows us to concentrate on building your home with our full attention, giving you a more personalised building experience. To discuss more about our approach to building, please get in touch with us.

Wattlebird Crescent

Type: New Build
Client: Natalie and James Condon

When we first approached Leigh Cass Builders we wanted to build a home for our family. Something that would accomodate us whilst the kids grow and that worked well on our limited block size.

Leigh Cass Builders were initially recommended to us by another couple who had built with them.

We both also liked the fact that Leigh and Mark were on the tools, not just supervising other trades. We experienced great communication from our initial meeting with them until the very end.

Having built previously, quality was our first priority when building this house. Experience definitely was a big factor with the knowledge we also gained from having Mark onsite. The constant communication between all involved in the build was effortless.

The three things we enjoyed most in the process of building with Leigh Cass Builders were

– Attention to detail

– High level of communication

– Common vision and enjoyment of our new build

Having gained several quotes from other builders, we found the fact that Leigh and also Mark were continually ‘on the tools’ a big a big factor in rewarding them with our build.

They were always keen to offer insight into any modifications we wanted as well as informing us as to ways we could keep costs down without altering our vision for the final product.

We absolutely love our new home!!

Again, with the attention to detail that was given during the build it has that extra edge.

Bell Street Ocean Grove

Type: New Build
Client: Andrew and Christine Smith

We wanted to build 4 townhouses on a double block in Ocean Grove.    Due to personal reasons we decided to build two, and another two earmarked for 2017.

We chose Leigh Cass Builders because of past recommendations from very happy clients, and also after seeing their workmanship.  They are perfectionists!

When you go into a build as a newby (like us), the over riding factor can be price. But price isn’t necessarily the most important aspect when deciding on a builder.  After going through the process of building two houses at once with LCB, we realised that what is equally, or even more important is the builder going into bat for us with other stakeholders such as the Council, and also, their attention to detail and not letting workmanship from sub contractors to be anything other than perfect. Being newby’s meant that we had to rely, at times heavily, on the support and back up of Mark and Leigh and they really did keep us well informed, advise us and guide us through what was often a difficult process with stakeholders.

What makes Leigh Cass Builder different? I would say number 1 is their perfection, they are passionate about their project and they do not cut corners. One day I wandered onto the site to see Leigh up on a ladder painting a little piece of wood that was on the 2nd storey and at the back of the house, almost totally obscure, but Leigh was up there painting it because he wanted it to look perfect. The other defining thing for me during the build process was that Leigh and Mark remained professional, calm and able to express themselves so well even in the face of our stress with dealing with Council and utility companies who were halting progress.

Leigh and Mark were on time with the completion, in fact, they finished 4 days early.  And they finished early in the face of a very wet winter, and frustrating changes by local Council regarding infrastructure. Leigh and Mark always made us feel welcome on site. Their tradies (carpenters, concreters, painters etc) were all absolutely lovely and they were all in for a friendly chat.  We have signed up with these guys to build our next two townhouses, which are bigger and more luxurious, and we couldn’t be more comfortable about this pending adventure.

Lastly, the workmanship of the townhouses is exceptional.  These homes are built to last.

Platinum Avenue

Type: New Build
Client: Jenny McGrory

When I first came to Leigh Cass Builders I wanted to build a house that was different, had character and stood out from the rest.

I saw a Leigh Cass house in Curlewis Estate and it struck me immediately as being different to all the others in the estate.  I also liked the small and personal local builder type thing, rather than the large impersonal project home ‘conveyor-belt’.

The most important things I looked for when building my home were quality, trust and communication.  I wanted my house to be built well.  I needed to trust the builders as I was doing it on my own (and at times, I was overseas) and they communicated with me at all times.

They constantly consulted me and kept me up to date and I felt a part of the build.  I liked the interaction and enjoyed the experience.  They made suggestions and at times questioned my decisions, but in a way that made me think through the issues which I appreciated.

I love my house and I am proud to show it off.  There’s nothing I’d change.
